The Chicago Sky will head to the Michelob Ultra Arena for a WNBA matchup against the Las Vegas Aces on Thursday. This will be a face-off between the top two teams in the WNBA.
The Sky are heading into the encounter on the back of a disappointing loss against the Seattle Storm on Tuesday. Courtney Vandersloot racked up 28 points and made 7 assists on the night. Kahleah Copper and Candace Parker scored 17 and 14 points respectively. Emma Meesseman also chipped in and scored 11 points for the Sky. However, neither of these efforts were enough to prevent a 111-100 loss for the Sky. Breanna Stewart got to 25-points to lead the way for the Storm. The defending champs will look to bounce back strongly from this setback and put in a good performance against the Aces.
The team from Las Vegas are coming in after yet another terrific display that led to a win against the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday. A’ja Wilson scored 24 points and bagged 14 boards for the Aces. Kelsey Plum and Chelsea Gray added 22 points each to make things easier for the team. Jackie Young also made a noteworthy contribution as she added 20 points. All of these efforts helped the Aces grab a 97-90 win on the night. They will be confident heading into the game as they have won their last two games ahead of this matchup. A win will put them on par with the Sky at the top of the table, which will be a great boost for them, just weeks ahead of the playoffs.
The Sky will take the court without Li Yueru, who is ruled out due to personal reasons. Meanwhile, the Las Vegas Aces will play without their forward Dearica Hamby, who is reported to be out for 2-4 weeks due to a knee bone contusion.
