Belgium will take on Greece in the 2025 EuroBasket World Cup Qualifiers on November 14. It would be absolutely amazing, “Hlinason, who has 14.7 points, a team-high 10.3 rebounds, and 2.8 blocks in six games during this qualifying season, is third in scoring for Iceland. The basketball team from Iceland is attempting to duplicate the accomplishment achieved by the football team, which became the population-wise smallest country to qualify for a FIFA World Cup in 2018. That happened after Iceland qualified for and notably advanced to the Quarterfinals of the 2016 UEFA EURO. Iceland’s basketball team, which has previously qualified for the FIBA EuroBasket in 2015 and 2017, would naturally advance to the FIBA Basketball World Cup. Iceland did experience a setback, however, as they were unable to compete in the FIBA EuroBasket 2022 Qualifiers, forcing them to start their World Cup campaign in the Pre-Qualifiers.
