The Malaysia Open 2022 is scheduled to be held at Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil, from June 28 to July 3. The tournament has a rich history as it has been held since 1937. This year, it will be the 12th edition of the BWF Super 750 tournament. Top Indian shuttlers PV Sindhu, Lakshya Sen, Kidambi Srikanth, Saina Nehwal, HS Prannoy among others will be competing in the BWF World Tour event. India would be hoping to shrug off their disappointing Indonesia Open campaign last week, which saw only HS Pranoy making it to the semi-final stage while everyone else faltered in the early stages of the competition.

World No.9 Lakshya is the only seeded player from India. The 20-year-old All England Open medalist is the eighth seed. He is placed in the third quarter of the draw that also has World No.3 Anders Antonsen in it. Lakshya will face South Korea’s Heo Kwang-hee in the first round of the competition. Meanwhile, World No.11 Srikanth is unseeded and will take on Thailand’s Sitthikom Thammasin in the opening round. Prannoy, who is in pretty good form, having reached the last-4 stage of Indonesia Open, is placed in the fourth quarter along with Sameer Verma.
