Sen defeated Mauritius’ Julien Georges Paul 21-12, 21-11. Meanwhile, two-time Olympic medalist Sindhu came from behind to beat Malaysia’s Goh Wei Jin 19-21, 21-14, 21-18. Srikanth on the other hand, was nowhere near his best but managed to get the better of England’s Toby Penty with a scoreline of 21-19, 21-17. Srikanth’s next opponent is Malaysia’s T Ng, while Sindu and Sen will take on Singapore’s Y Yeo and J Teh in their respective semi-final matches.

Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty put up an assured performance to beat Tang and Schueler 21-9, 21-11 in their men’s doubles quarter-final match. The Indian duo will take on Malaysian pair Chang Peng Soon and Tan Kian Meng in the semi-final stage. Meanwhile women’s doubles duo of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand got the better of Jamaica’s Tahlia Richardson and Wynter Katherine with a scoreline of 21-8, 21-6. The teenage Indian pair are just one win away from securing a medal on their debut. Treesa and Gayatri will face Malaysia’s Tan Koong Le Pearly and Thinaah Muralitharan in the semis on Sunday.
