World Para Athletics: Grand Prix 2023 Calendar announced

The World Para Athletics Grand Prix 2023, which runs from February to May of next year, will feature competitions in six venues on four continents. Five cities that hosted the Grand Prix in 2022 will once again host the event the following year. The Grand Prix was established in 2013 to give top athletes more opportunity to compete while also providing a platform to promote fresh talents and excellence in competition administration. This season will mark the Grand Prix’s tenth anniversary. 

The season will begin with the Tunis GP between February 6 and 8 at the Rades Olympic Athletics Stadium. Since the second iteration of the World Para Athletics Grand Prix in 2014, the Tunisian capital has been a regular member of the series.  The Grand Prix will then travel to Dubai, the city which has hosted the event in every edition since its inauguration. The four-day Grand Prix in Dubai will be staged at the Dubai Club for People of Determination from February 26 to March 1, 2022. This also acted as the venue for the World Championships 2019 held in the UAE.

Following that, the 2023 Grand Prix will be held in the Americas, while the two remaining rounds of the season will be in Europe- Italy and Switzerland. The final stop of the 2023 season will take place in Nottwil, Switzerland, from May 25 to 27. However, the venue for the Italy stop hasn’t been confirmed yet. The 2023 season will not include Paris, France, as the Para Athletics World Championships will be held there from July 8 to 17, 2023, at the Charlety Stadium.
