Shaunae Miller-Uibo is a Bahamian athlete who competes in the 400 m and 200 m. She became a two-time Olympic champion when she triumphed in the women’s 400 meter race in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 and Tokyo in 2020. At the age of 16, she won the 400 m World Junior gold in 2010, and the World Youth title in 2011. She completed the 200 m and 400 m double in 2017. She has won four 200 m and 400 m diamond league titles since then. She owns the circuit records in both disciplines. She has won numerous medals at global championships, including a gold one in the 400 meters at the 2022 Eugene Olympics. In straight 150 m and 200 m races, Shaunae holds the world record for the quickest female time.

Following her bronze indoor debut in 2014, she won her first global championship as a senior in March 2022, winning the women’s 400 m event at the World Indoor Championships in Belgrade with a timing of 50.31 seconds. Later same year, in July, Shaunae went on to win her maiden senior global outdoor gold in a timing of 49.11 seconds at the World Championships in Eugene 2022, spearheading a Caribbean sweep. Later, she admitted that she was excited to switch her primary event to the 200 meters and maybe the heptathlon.
