Daryll Neita is a British athlete who is presently the second-fastest female in UK history, after Dina Asher-Smith. In fact, Daryll has also stunned Asher-Smith in the 100-meter race at the Müller UK Athletics Championships. She finished with a timing of 10.80, which would have smashed Asher-British Smith’s record of 10:83 if she wasn’t assisted by a strong tailwind. Following that, she completed the double by winning the 200-meter final in 22.34. She prevailed over Beth Dobbin and Imani-Lara Lansiquot, who placed second and third respectively. In 2022, she claimed the British 100 m and 200 m titles. Additionally, she won bronze medals at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham and the European Championships in Munich. Darryl also clinched the Olympic bronze medals in 2016 and 2021 and the World Championship silver medals in both 2017 and 2019.

Her breakout year arrived in 2016, when she finished second in the Olympic Trials. With this, she earned herself a spot in the Rio Olympics and the European Championships in Amsterdam. In Amsterdam, she won silver as part of the 4 x 100 metre relay team alongside Asher-Sith, Asha Philip, and Bianca Williams. The quartet also broke the British record with a timing of 41:81. Neita narrowly missed the 100-meter semifinal in Rio, but she helped the team that won the 4 x 100-meter relay, which also featured Asha Philip, Desiree Henry, and Asher-Smith, win bronze and set a new British record. Neita qualified for the World Athletics Championships after placing second in the 100-meter event at the British Championships the next year. She won silver in the 4 x 100-meter relay there. However, she was knocked out in the semifinals of the 100-meter individual event.

She placed second once more at the British Championships in 2018 to earn a spot at the Berlin European Championships. She placed fourth in the 100m semifinal and took home the gold as a member of the 4 x 100m relay team. Neita raced at the 2019 World Athletics Championships in Doha a year later. She won team silver in the 4 x 100-meter relay but unfortunately missed the semi-final in the 100-meter race. She relocated to Florida the same year to train with Rana Reider as her coach. Neita was picked for the 4 x 100m Olympic relay women’s team for Tokyo in 2020, where the quartet won Olympic bronze for the second time.
