Trayvon Jaquez Bromell, also known as Trayvon Bromell, is a professional track and field athlete from the United States who specializes in sprinting events. At the World Championships in Beijing and in Oregon, Bromell earned bronze medals in the 100 meter event. At the 2014 World Junior Championships in Eugene, he also took home two medals: one gold and one silver. He won the indoor 60 m world championship in 2016. He is also the sixth quickest man of all time, tying him alongside Christian Coleman and Fred Kerley. Mike Ford has been Bromell’s coach since 2013. However, he broke off his long-standing partnership with Ford in 2019 to work with Rana Reider. Reider is one of the most well-known track and field coaches in the world, having coached four-time triple jump world champion Christian Taylor and Olympic 200m winner Andre de Grasse.

Trayvon Bromell was born on July 10, 1995, to parents Cashmere Bromell and Shri Sanders. His mother was a high school sprinter, while his father was a football player who competed in the Canadian Football League. Bromell has a sister and two brothers. When Bromell was just 10 years old, his aunt Terell Bromell witnessed him competing in a street race and was motivated to participate in athletics. At the Florida High School Athletics Association 3A State Finals, he represented Gibbs High School and won the 100-meter race. After finishing high school, he enrolled at the Baylor University.

Bromell is also a person who is devoted to religion. He was carried off the track in the Rio Olympics with a torn Achilles in 2016. Before the crucial injury in 2016 that jeopardized his career and led him on a multiyear recovery journey, the devoutly religious sprinter had broken both of his knees, fractured his arm, and dislocated his hip. Every medical professional he saw over those years of suffering told him he would never run again or be in peak condition. But, he made a full recovery and credited God with it. He even attributed his extraordinary turnaround to one thing: a divine intervention.
