American track and field athlete, Aleia Hobbs, represents the United States in international competitions. She completed her high school education at McMain High School before attending the Louisiana State University (LSU) in 2014. There, she competed for the LSU Tigers and Lady Tigers, the athletic teams that represented LSU in collegiate competitions. Some of her collegiate achievements include winning four national collegiate titles in 2018, winning the 60 m at the NCAA Division I Indoor Championships, the 100 m and the 4 × 100 m relay at the NCAA Division I Championships, and the 100 m sprint at the U.S. Championships.

She experienced one of the most productive sprinting seasons in LSU Track & Field history. When she triumphed in the women’s 100-meter dash at the first SEC Relays in 2017 with a wind-legal personal best of 10.85 seconds, she became the holder of the low-altitude collegiate record in that event. She also climbed to second place on the NCAA’s all-time list, trailing only former LSU sprinter Dawn Sowell’s altitude record of 10.78 set at the 1989 NCAA Championships in Provo, Utah. She wasn’t at her best in 2016 as injuries made it difficult for her to have a successful year.

Some of her professional career achievements include winning the silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 in the 4×100-meter relay. She then went on to win the gold medal at the World Championships 2022 in the same event. In her junior career, she won the gold medal for the USA in the women’s 4×100-meter relay and the silver medal in the women’s 100m at the 2015 Pan American Junior Championships. This was also the time when she was studying at the LSU. She has started her 2023 season well by winning the Razorback Invitational and New Balance Indoor Grand Prix 2023 in Boston.
