World Athletics and Infront Renew Partnership for Media Rights

The six-year arrangement between World Athletics and Infront extends a collaboration that started in 2020 and comprises the international rights to all World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold series competitions.

World Athletics and Infront recently announced an extension of their media rights arrangement for the World Athletics Indoor Tour until the end of 2029. The six-year arrangement extends a collaboration that started in 2020 and comprises the international rights to all World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold series competitions. This new contract adds to Infront’s existing 10-year exclusive international media rights deal for the World Athletics Continental Tour and a five-year deal for the Diamond League beginning in 2025.

The World Athletics Indoor Tour’s popularity has grown significantly owing to this cooperation, which has greatly increased its reach. The World Athletics Indoor Tour was able to connect with new customers and audiences because of the relationship. Infront’s comprehensive understanding of the sport’s direction has been critical to the two companies’ productive and positive collaboration. The Tour now reaches viewers in more than 70 countries courtesy of Infront’s large network of broadcast relationships.

More than 70 countries have watched coverage of the 2023 World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold series, enhancing its exposure. The relationship has aided in further strengthening the Tour’s global presence thanks to their solid partnership. The World Athletics Indoor Tour, formerly known as the IAAF World Indoor Tour, is a yearly sequence of indoor track and field meets that has been contested since 2016. It was intended to take the role of the IAAF Indoor Permit Meetings series and establish an indoor track and field Diamond League-style circuit. The tour increased in 2021 to include three levels of competition: Gold, Silver, and Bronze, following the extended outdoor World Athletics Continental Tour. The fourth category, Challenger, was added to the circuit in 2022. The tour is designed to accommodate important indoor competitions, such as the World Athletics Indoor Championships and the European Athletics Indoor Championships, as well as national championships and trials when necessary.
