World Athletics 2023: Know all the important events in March

World Athletics, formerly referred to as the IAAF from 1912 to 2001, was once known as the International Amateur Athletic Federation. It is the global regulatory body for the athletics discipline, which includes track and field, road running, cross-country running, race walking, mountain running, and ultra running. Its duties also include establishing uniform rules and guidelines for sports, accrediting athletic facilities, managing global records, and planning and holding athletic tournaments.

On 18 July 1912, shortly after the conclusion of the 1912 Summer Olympics in Stockholm, Sweden, the process of establishing World Athletics began.  27 representatives from 17 national federations resolved to hold a conference the following year in Berlin, Germany, overseen by Sigfrid Edström, who later became the organization’s first president. The International Amateur Athletic Federation was officially established in 1913 by the Congress (IAAF). From 1912 until 1946, it had its main office in Sweden. However, its main office is now located in Monaco.

World Athletics: Important Athletics events in March

This long-term calendar includes all contests staged with a World Athletics, Area, or National Member Federation License that have been reported to World Athletics. The competitions are deemed to have been conducted in accordance with World Athletics Competition and Technical Regulations. World Athletics accepts the published results for all of its statistical purposes, including the determination of World Rankings and eligibility for major Championships, unless otherwise specified. The following are the important World Athletics competitions which will be held in March 2023.
