With this, Johnson qualified for the Asian Games 2022 in Hangzhou, which will be held later this year. With a timing of 3:44:52, Jinson Johnson finished first and breached the Asian Games qualification mark set for the men’s 1500-meter race. The Athletics Federation of India (AFI) had set the entry standard for the Asian Games at 3:47:84 in the 1500 meter. He was sidelined for several months as a result, and there was concern that his recovery might take some time.

At the Asian Games 2018, Jinson Johnson clocked 3:44.72 sec to claim the men’s 1500m ahead of Iran’s Amir Moradi. In addition, he also won the silver medal at the prestigious tournament this time in the men’s 800m race.
