Brasov Running Festival is organized in the city of Brașov, in the CORESI neighbourhood, the most beautiful & modern area in Romania. The fast & flat course is measured and certified by AIMS & World Athletics. The event is the only World Athletics Elite Label 10k event in South Eastern Europe. It is also set to include popular and children races, concerts, conferences and other running related activities.

The date for the event is set for 25th September this year. The all-time records at the event have been set by Peter Mwaniki Aila (28:39) of Kenya in the men’s. His countrywoman Nelly Jepchumba holds the record in the women’s category (32:11). The prize money for the event is set to exceed 50,000 USD this time around. Marathon legend Mary Keitany is the official ambassador of the race, and she will present in Brasov to witness the performances of the new road running stars.

Sunday, 25th of September: (Course length: 3494 m)

  • Seniors (2000 +)  and Juniors – all categories    5 000m.   (5K)  M+F

   (2003-2004-2005-2006-2007-2008)

  • Seniors (2000 +)  and old juniors (2003-2004)   10 000 m.  (10K)  M+F – ELITE
  • Seniors (2000 +)  and old juniors (2003-2004)   10 000 m.  (10K)  M+F – OPEN
  • Young children (2015 -2014 -2013 -2012)               800 m.            M+F
  • Older children (2011 –2010 – 2009)                      1 200 m.            M+F

The finish line will be common for all three events, with the starts from:
– 10K run – individual gate inscribed with the name of the race
– 5K run – individual gate inscribed with the name of the race
– children race – 800m & 1200m – start line (Camil Petrescu street).
