The Bangsaen 10 will take place in Chon Buri province, Thailand on September 18, 2022. It is a 10-kilometer running competition classified by World Athletics as an Elite label race. This is the first time the race has been restarted following a two-year hiatus due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus. More than 8,000 runners, both experienced and new, are taking part in the race this year. The Semi-Elite runners will start at the first block in the competition after the Elite runners.

Thai-American athlete Kieran Tuntivate who won gold medals in the 5,000-meter and 10,000-meter races at the 30th Southeast Asian Games will also be competing in the event. He recently broke the Asian men’s 5,000-meter sprint record at the Boston University indoor race, clocking 13:08.41 secs. Experienced long-distance runner Nattawut Innum will participate in this competition.

Bangsaen 10: Qualifying Process

The athletes should have met the standard qualifying time in the races held between 2019 and 2022 to compete in the race. He/she must have secured the qualifying time mark in one of the following events:

1) World Athletics Gold Label, Silver Label, or Bronze Label Race

2) AIMS Certified Races

The Qualifying Time for both men and women race walkers is as follows:

1) Men’s 10K Record: Below 35 minutes

2) Women’s 10K Record: Below 42 minutes
