The first news is about the Winners of Comic Solmare’s Grand Prize 2023 being announced. The winners of the “Minna ga Erabu!! Denshi Comic Taish 2019” (Everyone Picks!! Online Comic Grand Prize) competition was revealed on Tuesday by the Comic Solmare e-book website of NTT Solmare Corporation. On the manga website, viewers could vote for web manga series from 56 publishers that were expected to be great blockbusters this year. Oni no Hanayome (“The Ogre’s Bride”), an interpretation of Kureha’s book by artist Jun Togashi, took home the top honour. The manga is a Cinderella story that takes place in a society where ayakashi and humans cohabit. My Stepmother and Stepsisters Aren’t Wicked by Otsuji and The Great Snake’s Bride by Fushiashikumo won the Men’s Comic Prize. Both titles have been licensed by Seven Seas. The Great Snake’s Bride will be released in July, while My Stepmother and Stepsisters Aren’t Wicked will be out in May. The winning entries in the Women’s Comic category were Gkon Ni Ittara Onna ga Inakatta Hanashi by Nana Aokawa and Denka, Kokoro no Koe ga Dadamore Desu! By Mimasaka (“Your Highness, Your Inner Thoughts Are Gushing Out!”).
The competition established an isekai category for the genre in 2021 as a reference to the growing popularity of anime and manga with themes from various parts of the world. The winning song this year is Tsuih Sareta Akuyaku Reij Desu ga, Mofumofu Tsuki by Taishi Nekota. I Am a Banished Villainess, but I’ve started a Slow Life with Fluffy Things! Shinya Eigy Kujiratei: Gozen 0-ji no Napolitan, written by Jin Kizuki, is a Light Novel (“Kujiratei Is Open Late: Napolitan at 12 a.m.”) and Though I Am an Inept Villainess: Tale of the Butterfly-Rat Body Swap in the Maiden Court by Satsuki Nakamura won the top honour. The light book and its manga adaptation have been given licenses by Seven Seas. The initial volume of the light novel was released by Seven Seas in September.
Starting a Lesson in Pleasure with My Childhood Friend Bartender” by Hajimeru Kaikan Lesson and “Akuyaku Mob Reij Ni Tensei Shitara Kryaku Taiy no Saikyji Kara Ch’ai Sareteimasu” by Umenokoppe won the TL or “teens love” category. Both authors are female readers (“When I Was Reincarnated as a Villainess Background Character, the Love Interest Prince Started Revering Me”).
The winning entries in the BL categories were Taikan Yoh (“Forecasting Feeling”) by Nikke Taino and Takara no Biidoro (“Takara’s Glass”) by Minta Suzumaru.

Yoshio Kosakai (Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online) is in charge of character design, while Kenta Ihara (Cautious Hero: The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious, Saga of Tanya the Evil) is in charge of the series scripts. The anime’s opening song, “Quiet explosion,” will be performed by Mamoru Miyano.
