The Great Cleric anime: New promo reveals cast and theme songs

The official website for the anime of Broccoli Lion’s The Great Cleric has released a new promotional video. The website also confirmed the show’s theme song performers and five more cast members.

According to the website, the anime’s main theme song “Bagu-chan” will be performed by Nasuo, while the ending theme song “A New Day” will be performed by Yuki Nakashima. The new cast includes:

  • Rika Kinugawa as Lumina
  • Hina Tachibana as Nanaera
  • Manaka Iwami as Monika
  • Mikoi Sasaki as Kururu
  • Showtaro Morikubo as Kōun-sensei

The anime will make its debut on TBS and BS11 in July. The case of the anime features:

  • Reiji Kawashima as Luciel
  • Akio Ohtsuka as Brod
  • Tomoaki Maeno as Grulga
  • Daisuke Ono as Galva

The direction of the anime will be done by Masato Tamagawa at Yokohama Animation Lab and Could Hearts. The series composition will be done by Keiichiro Ochi, while Guonian Wang is in charge for designing the characters. Vertical has licensed the manga and it has described the story as follows:

“The manga based on the hit light novel series (Japanese title: Seija Musō), about an ordinary salaryman who cheats death and now must find his way in another world—as a great healer.”

The current manga was launched by Akikaze in 2017. It is based on Broccolo Lion’s novels. The company started serializing the story on the “Shōsetsuka ni Narō” website in October 2015. The novels were published by Micro Magazine in print with illustrations by sime in August 2016. The English versions of the light novels are released by J-Novel.

Pluto manga anime gets Netflix release date

Netflix has confirmed its plans to release the animated series of Naoki Urasaw’s Pluto manga in 2023. The streaming giant has also confirmed the project’s lead Japanese voice cast and studio.

GENCO will be collaborating with Tezuka Productions with animation production by M2. Urasawa said in a statement, “In a quote provided by Netflix, Urasawa said, “I applaud the courage of everyone that has taken on the challenge of making an anime based on PLUTO. I am excited about the birth of this new series to win over people’s hearts. I hope that now more than ever, Osamu Tezuka’s message reaches the world.”
