Gaimin Gladiators Named Winners of BetBoom Xmas Show

After a thrilling Grand Finals series against Team Spirit, the winners of The International 2021 (TI10), who were also making their new roster debut with a new mid laner in Dennis “Larl” Sigitov, Gaimin Gladiators—despite only having midlaner Quinn “Quinn” Callahan—are officially crowned as the winners of the BetBoom Xmas Show tournament. Gaimin Gladiators managed to conclude the year on a good note despite not performing to their full potential due to Dutch carry Indji “Shad” Lub filling in for Anton “dyrachyo” Shkredo during the playoffs. The organisation is situated in Europe and had a respectable competitive year.

Recap:

By selecting the trio of Mirana, Centaur Warrunner, and Dragon Knight in Game 1, Team Spirit opted for a stable draught. On the other hand, Gaimin Gladiators selected Faceless Void, Puck, and Magnus for a draft that was more open-ended. Team Spirit, however, would go on to utterly win the match as they outscored the Gladiators in terms of net worth advantage. Even though the Gladiators made an effort to defend their base, they eventually ran out of players after 50 minutes, giving Team Spirit the first victory.

Gaimin Gladiators desired retribution after Game 2. The Gladiators were able to thwart Team Spirit’s choice by handing Quinn the Sniper in the midlane while Team Spirit selected for Magomed “Collapse” Khalilov’s iconic Magnus. Quinn proved to be the difference maker for his side as he gunned down all of Team Spirit’s heroes in many team fights as the main damage dealer, despite the fact that the early stages of the game were well-matched between both teams. 47 minutes later, Team Spirit was referred to as “GG.”

As Team Spirit played with an aggressive strategy in Game 3, Gaimin Gladiators suffered as a result. The players of Team Spirit took advantage of their mid-game timing to gain the upper hand on the Gladiators by farming on their heroes during the early going, including Ursa and Leshrac. Gaimin Gladiators gave up in the 41st minute after realising they could no longer stop what was coming.

Despite more heroes dying on Team Spirit’s side in the opening stages of Game 4, the game started out quite competitively. Although Team Spirit proceeded to feed one by one during the mid game phase, things quickly got out of hand for them as Gaimin Gladiators adopted a more aggressive strategy. Although Squad Spirit made an effort to fight to the last end, the damage had already been done, and the team lost in 46 minutes.

For Illya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk in game 5, Team Spirit made safe selections by selecting Razor, Tiny, and Collapse’s emblematic Mars. By selecting Drow Ranger, Leshrac, and Nature’s Prophet as its main three, Gaimin Gladiators, on the other hand, went all-in on damage output. Compared to the other games in the series, there was a lot less action in the opening 10 minutes as both teams traded kills and also engaged in late-game farming. In contrast, things started to spin out of hand once more after Team Spirit lost a single team fight in the 15th minute. Even though Team Spirit was able to hold out for an additional 25 minutes, they were unable to stop the inevitable and tapped out after 40 minutes.
