AEW superstar Matt Hardy has revealed that he spoke to his brother Jeff Hardy after his DUI arrest and has said that Jeff feels terrible over his actions and how everything transpired. The Hardy Boyz were scheduled to be in the main event of Dynamite this week battling for the Tag Team Titles in a three-way ladder match, but due to Jeff’s arrest, they were pulled from the fight.

Speaking on his The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt opened up about the situation and said, “He’s just so remorseful, so embarrassed, he like hates himself and I think that’s a part of it too. And he has to know obviously what he did was atrocious, terrible, terrible decision-making, but then also he has to know that people love him. It’s very important. Just like you said, at the end of the day, it all comes down to the individual. You have to keep yourself in check, you have to be on top of yourself, you are the only person that can really ensure you’re not going to go awry or go in a bad direction, whether it’s because of mental issues or whether it’s because of addiction issues as you said.”

Why Jeff Hardy got arrested?

AEW superstar Jeff Hardy was arrested in Florida earlier today for driving under influence. Jeff was arrested in Volusia County, Florida for “DUI Alcohol/Drugs 3rd Offense within 10 years,” “Driving While License Cancelled/Suspended/Revoked” and “Violating Restrictions Placed On Driver’s License.” Hardy was arrested on June 13th at 12:45 pm and is still in custody according to Volusia County records. All the charges pressed against Hardy are felony counts, with him currently being held on a bond that totals $3,500 ($2,500 for the DUI, and $500 for license violations).

As the DUI charge notes, this is Hardy’s 3rd offence within the past 10 years, which adds to the severity of the current charge. The high flyer is no stranger to such a thing as he has faced numerous legal troubles in the past. He was arrested in 2011 for drug trafficking which led him to spend 10 days in jail. Jeff was arrested twice in 2019, once in July for public intoxication, and then again in October for driving while impaired.
