WWE legend and Hall of Famer Kurt Angle has stated that AEW star Chris Jericho has overtaken Shawn Michaels as the Greatest of All Time. The DemoGod has made AEW interesting for all the fans and in the process has reinvented himself to such an extent that defies his age. He first started the Inner Circle when he made his AEW debut and ran riot in the locker room. The faction went on to have feuds with many of the top superstars like Jon Moxley, Orange Cassidy, Matt Hardy etc. Y2J then recently formed the Jericho Appreciation Society and in the process has reinvented himself once again.
In a recent interview with Lucha Liber Online, the Olympic Gold medallist heaped praises on Y2J and stated his reasons for it. He said, “What he’s been able to do with his characters, changing and innovating himself and being able to be as effective as he is in the business this late in his career, at 51, 52 years of age, and being in the business for over 30 years.”
He continued, “He’s put in a lot of time, a lot of effort, and he’s very talented. So, I put him up there with Shawn Michaels, but now, after being in AEW and doing the things he’s doing now, he has to be the greatest of all time, especially for the amount of years he put in.”

Both Kurt Angle and Chris Jericho have faced each other on numerous occasions during their heyday in the WWE. They were household names during the Attitude Era and gave the fans unforgettable memories with their catchphrases and highly competitive matches. Since they both know each other so well, it should come as no surprise that this isn’t the first time that Kurt Angle has called Chris Jericho the GOAT. He first made the comments when Jericho appeared on The Kurt Angle Show in March.
“Chris, I want to tell you this,” Angle told Jericho. “I’ve always thought Shawn Michaels was the greatest of all time. And I’m not saying this to blow smoke up your ass, but what you’ve been able to accomplish in AEW, and how long you’ve been able to have this career, I think that you have taken over Shawn as the greatest of all time. You really have, Chris. I mean that with all my heart.”
