The AEW World Heavyweight Championship match between Hangman Adam Page and Adam Cole in a Texas Death match was promoted on AEW Rampage. In an interesting, if not gory, main event versus Cole, Hangman Adam Page defended his championship.

The Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament included Ruby Soho vs. Robyn Renegade, and The Gunn Club vs. the Blackpool Combat Club was also announced on AEW Rampage.

AEW Rampage match card

  • The Blackpool Combat Club vs. The Gunn Club
  • The Butcher vs Barrett Brown
  • Ruby Soho vs Robyn Renegade—Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Qualifier
  • Hangman Adam Page vs Adam Cole—Texas Death Match for the AEW World Championship

The Blackpool Combat Club vs. The Gunn Club

For the entire stable, Blackpool Combat Club needs its theme, and I recommend Tony Khan‘s license “I’m Shipping Off to Boston.” Following his star-making performance against Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta was greeted with “Yuta” cheers to begin this bout. Yuta had gone even further than Billy Gunn. Wheeler Yuta was accidentally sent into the air by Billy Gunn’s kick out.

Winner: The Blackpool Combat Club

The Butcher vs Barrett Brown

After AEW unexpectedly brought The Butcher back to television and expected fans to take him seriously as a threat to Wardlow, as they will take on each other in AEW Dynamite. The Butcher gave a statement as he destroyed Brown.

Winner: The Butcher

Ruby Soho vs Robyn Renegade—Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Qualifier

Dustin Rhodes had challenged CM Punk to a bout on AEW Dynamite prior to this encounter. It was wonderful to see Ruby Soho back in action, and the women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, like the TBS Championship Tournament, will be stacked with possible champions like Soho, Britt Baker, and Toni Storm. Soho retaliates by kicking Renegade and then hitting her in the side of the head with a kick. Renegade is pushed onto the middle rope by Soho. Renegade retaliates by raking the eyes. When the official isn’t looking, Robyn rolls out to the floor and her twin sister Charlotte emerges from beneath the ring to make the swap. Charlotte leaves the ring, and Robyn returns to attempt a pin on Soho, but only gets a two count. Soho resurfaces with her finisher to take the victory.

Winner: Ruby Soho

Hangman Adam Page vs Adam Cole—Texas Death Match for the AEW World Championship

There was a fantastic sequence where Hangman Adam Page faked a moonsault while clutching a chair. This prompted Adam Cole to attempt a superkick, but Page countered with a second moonsault. This bout didn’t have nearly as many “let’s go Adam” pranks because the Texas audience took the match seriously from the start. Adam Page refrained from slamming a steel chair coated with the barbed wire into Adam Cole. He later rubbed barbed wire over Cole’s face with his bare hands before firing a Deadeye through the table.

Winner: Hangman Adam Page
