Since Double or Nothing, when the referee halted Anarchy in the Arena while Chris Jericho and Jake Hager had him in submission grips, Bryan Danielson hadn’t been on AEW television. Zack Sabre Jr. challenged him to a bout at this Sunday’s Forbidden Door, and his allies and opponents from DoN booked themselves in a horrific rivalry finale for next Wednesday. We learned that he was hurt but that it wasn’t serious.
Bryan Danielson addressed ZSJ and the Blood & Guts match in his show-opening promo for the June 22 Dynamite. Bryan will be unable to work either match, which is unfortunate. He vowed to return and made a point of assuring us that his injuries aren’t a hint that the concussion concerns that caused him to leave WWE for a while are returning. Eddie Kingston, Santana, Ortiz, and Jon Moxley will still battle the Jericho Appreciation Society on June 29. The Sabre Jr. bout is still scheduled to take place. But who will succeed Danielson? Although he is keeping quiet, rumours are flying around on Twitter.
