This week’s AEW Dynamite had spectacular matchups and face-offs. It was a special, the special Road Rager edition on AEW Dynamite. This week’s AEW offered some of the best matches with some major stipulations. The tag titles were on the line, and Switchblade Jay appeared on AEW and cut a promo. Moxley and Tanahashi came face to face. Toni Storm went one-on-one against Dr. Britt Baker to avenge her only loss in AEW. In a hair vs. hair match, Chris Jericho and Ortiz fought. So, here are the results and some highlights of AEW Dynamite.

AEW Dynamite match card

  • Chris Jericho vs. Ortiz
  • Wardlow vs. Security
  • Dax Harwood vs. Will Ospreay
  • Miro vs. Ethan Page
  • Toni Storm vs. Britt Baker
  • The Young Bucks vs. Jurassic Express (c) in a ladder match for AEW tag team tiles

Chris Jericho vs. Ortiz (Hair vs Hair)

The Hair vs. Hair bout between Jericho and Ortiz was the opening match of the night. While the whole Jericho Appreciation Society was present to support its leader, Ortiz was accompanied by only Eddie Kingston. Ortiz was pumped up and launched a rocket at Jericho, but the veteran was able to immediately reclaim the upper hand when his opponent made an unwise risk. The contest was hectic, a little aggressive but not bloody, and had a few humorous moments. Despite having just a tenuous link to the men in the ring, William Regal was permitted to sit with the commentary crew.

Santana and Wheeler Yuta dashed down the street to finish off the remainder of the JAS members. Then came the most unexpected part. Fuego Del Sol emerged out of nowhere, hitting Ortiz with a bat, allowing Jericho to score the game-winning run. He then exposed himself to be a disguised Sammy Guevara. Ortiz took out the clippers and started cutting his own hair while shouting “Blood and Guts” over the microphone.

Winner: Chris Jericho

Wardlow vs. Security

After surviving an assault force, Wardlow began slowly eliminating each security guy one by one. Wardlow pinned several, forced others to surrender, and even used a pin to remove four people at once. He was victorious after easily eliminating everyone. He then turned his attention to Mark Sterling, rolling him into the ring. Dan Lambert’s distraction was the only thing that kept him alive. A couple of members of the American Top Team entered the ring, but they sided with Wardlow.

Winner: Wardlow

Dax Harwood vs. Will Ospreay

This week, Dax Harwood and Will Ospreay fought in a singles event before facing off in a multi-man combat on June 26 at Forbidden Door. Both of them continued to inflict as much pain on one other as they could. This was entertaining from beginning to end, with various distinct audience shouts throughout. The crowd cheered multiple near-falls as possible finishers before Ospreay ultimately won with a running elbow.

Winner: Will Ospreay

Following a few video packages, Jon Moxley and Hiroshi Tanahashi had a face-to-face encounter. Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara interrupted Tanahashi from the stage before he could finish his sentence. With the aid of Lance Archer and Desperado from Suzuki-gun, the remainder of the Jericho Appreciation Society annihilated both guys. More people joined the fight, and at last it was Mox and Tanahashi left staring one another.

Miro vs. Ethan Page

Miro and Ethan Page faced off in an All-Atlantic tournament matchup next. Dan Lambert was on hand to cheer on his client, but Scorpio Sky was nowhere to be found. Page took control of the match for a while, which was a shocking turn of events. It’s easy to see Miro steamrolling over Page going into this, but that didn’t happen at all. With his typical submission, The Redeemer was able to seal the victory.

Winner: Miro

Toni Storm vs. Britt Baker

Toni Storm and Britt Baker were squabbling. The brawl immediately spilled outside the ring, where DMD seized control by throwing Storm against the ring post. Following an altercation between Jamie Hayter and Rebel to divert the ref’s attention, the former AEW women’s champion started to dominate the Australian athlete. Storm continued to build a lot of momentum after a break with a couple of tornado DDTs, one of which occurred on the floor. Storm won the bout with her signature piledriver after a late-match resurgence.

Winner: Toni Storm

The Young Bucks vs. Jurassic Express (c) in a ladder match for AEW tag team tiles

There was also a brief piece with a promo from Adam Page. Jay White tackled him from behind while Adam Cole ridiculed him from the stage. The Tag Team Championship Ladder battle between Jurassic Express and The Young Bucks was the night’s main event. Every match on this week’s programme seemed to start off blazing and never let up, and with this as a Ladder match with four men recognized for their ability to put on spectacular battles, it had the most hectic start of the night.

Blood was spilled, scars were inflicted, and after it was all over and done, with the Bucks getting crowned as the AEW tag team champions for the second time. After the match, Jungle Boy was dragging his leg. While Christian looked to be assisting him, he quickly seized the young star and pressed the Killswitch, turning on Jurassic Express for the first time. He swung a powerful swing between two chairs, crushing Jungle Boy’s skull between them.

Winner: The Young Bucks
